World Affairs Seminar 2010-The Global Freshwater Challenge

An incredible week for high school students to learn about the world, meet those behind the news, and have the time of their lives. Exploring cutting-edge topics in the areas of globalization, climate change, emerging water technologies, water privatization, global security, and human rights. What are the most important trends? Which institutions are engaged in the global conversation? Hear what the experts have to say, collaborate with your peers, develop your own conclusions, all at the World Affairs Seminar.

Water scarcity is one of the greatest threats to global security and human health and interconnects with many other contemporary global challenges. The key features of the 2010 seminar will include: Exploring cutting-edge topics in the areas of globalization, climate change, emerging water technologies, water privatization, global security, and human rights; Interacting with renowned experts; Generating plans for action and collaboration to address water issues; Debating and discussing controversial freshwater case studies; Participating in a freshwater public policy simulation; Touring local freshwater sites. Southeastern Wisconsin is emerging as a global leader in freshwater innovation and research and Milwaukee was recently designated one of thirteen United Nations Global Compact Cities and the only one selected for freshwater management. The Greater Milwaukee Area is home to approximately 120 water industry businesses. **10% Group Discount for organizations or schools that send four or more students.** Application Deadline: May 15, 2010
